We actually got out to get our OWN Mountain Fix for two date nights in a row at the Allegany County Fair in Cumberland, MD, Lois’ home town last summer. On Monday night we saw Sara Evans from the grandstands (with funnel cake) and Tuesday night we were a lot closer to the stage for Christian artists Casting Crowns who were AMAZING.
Our gift shop (A Mountain Fix) closed permanently at the end of October 2024. As Lois’ mom celebrated her 93rd birthday, we just don’t know how much care she will require. Thanks to Lois’ nephew filling in we actually got away on a cruise TOGETHER for the first time in three years, even if just for a long weekend. Sunny beaches and turquoise water are part of our DNA but over the past 28 years it has usually been a part of our life together. This life chapter has rewritten a lot of that by necessity but sometimes priorities just need to shift….
We are hoping to have more time to enjoy the mountains and get caught up in other areas that have been on back burners.
